Vroom vroom….these tiny tots couldn’t wait to make their exit from the shelter when they got the green light! Benzy, Beamer and Bentley are Pug/Terrier mixes with the most adorable little black mugs and scruffy coat. The boys are fueled up and ready to zoom laps around their bounty of toys. They have proven to be very smart and have already picked up default sit and have mastered a few smart toys like the snuffle mat and slow feeder. We are guessing these cuties will mature in the 25 lb range when full grown.

Palmer lost his home through no fault of his own. His family was getting evicted and their dogs had nowhere to go. Palmer is fitting in quite nicely in his foster home. He will be a relatively easy addition to a new home. He’s a friendly guy who loves being pet. He is dog and kid friendly too! Palmer is a 2 year old, 13 lb Chihuahua mix with the cutest little flap ears you ever did see. He is truly adorable!

Parker lost his home because his former owner got evicted, and didn’t have a plan in place for Parker other than the animal shelter. We couldn’t let that be Parker’s fate, so he’s now a Lovebug. Parker is a friendly boy and he greeted everyone at the groomer with a tail wag. He’s super soft and fluffy and will require regular upkeep and grooming of his handsome coat. Parker is a 2 year old 13 lb Pomeranian mix who would love for his forever family to be home a little more often that not. He gets along well with other dogs, and is going to make a wonderful little lap dog.

MEDICAL HOLD: Valerie 💔 It’s hard to look at this photo and see the condition this poor girl is in. Valerie was left in the overnight drop at the shelter on 3/19 as a “stray”. She has worn canines, scabs, scars and crusty skin all over her nose, ears, muzzle, forehead and back limbs. She weighs only 34 lbs and is literally a skeleton.
Despite the horrific condition she is in, she is the sweetest most loving girl ever. Her ability to stand and walk is limited due to muscle wasting, but her tail wags as she greets other dogs and people.
We don’t want to jump to conclusions as to why Valerie is in this condition. The reality is we don’t know her backstory so we need to first rule out possible medical causes for her condition. She did see our vet today and what we do know is her heart is strong and her lungs sound clear. We ran baseline bloodwork and a fecal to start today. The vet thinks she is about 3 year old and the upside is that she is very hungry and not refusing food. So for the time being she is being fed smaller meals several times a day so we can get the appropriate calorie intake for her without overwhelming her digestive system. We should be getting test results back by tomorrow to early next week and we will keep everyone posted.

Our Back Bay Babies were rescued from the San Bernardino shelter after they were turned in as strays. They are super sweet and are so happy to be living by the beach now! Somerset, Cambridge, Devon and Berkshire look like a mix of terrier/lab with the most adorable long ears and scruff. We expect them to mature in the 50 lb range when full grown. There is one female and 3 males, and they are very sweet natured, playful and curious pups!

Berkshire was rescued from the San Bernardino shelter after he was turned in as a stray with his siblings. Berkshire is super handsome with his tall lean build and his coat is growing in longer. He even has a wavy coat on his back. Berki loves to follow his foster mommy around the house and is her sidekick while working from home. He’s a good listener and will tilt his head when you are talking to him. He walks great on leash and loves other dogs and people he meets on his adventures. He sleeps like a dream in his pen and goes out to the back yard to potty in the grass. His favorite toy is his squeaky froggy and and his favorite saying is “good boi”. Berkshire is a 3 month old 20 lb Lab mix (labradoodle/terrier). He will mature in the 50 lb range when full grown.

This little guy was surrendered by his previous owner when they could no longer care for him and they were allowing him to wander outside in the street. Ember is a 4 year old, 5 lb Chihuahua who is very sweet natured and gets along with other dogs, cats and new people he meets. He’s loving all the attention he’s getting, now that he’s a Lovebug! Ember loves cuddling in his cozy bed and going for walks. He’s going to make a great addition to a family who has a love for the Chihuahua breed.

PENDING MEET AND GREET, TAKING BACK UP APPS ONLY: Coco is a sweet natured gal who came to us terribly matted. She now has a short coat, but her gorgeous salt and pepper locks will grow back in soon! Coco is dog and cat friendly. She’s a tiny bit shy at first, but she has a goofy playful spirt and loves doing zoomies with her fur friend kitty in her foster home. Coco will require a secure home, preferable with some yard space and we’d think she would prefer to have another dog or cat in the home that she can hang out with. Coco will benefit overall from a little bit of confidence building, but she’s already come such a far way in the short time we’ve had her! Coco is a 1 1/2 year old, 17 lb Poodle mix (cockapoo, havapoo or shipoo guessing).

Hamilton is a gorgeous 3 year old, 18 lb Terrier mix. We just love his markings! Hamilton was rescued from the Riverside shelter. He’s a busy boy who loves to be included on whatever is going on. He is both people and dog friendly and is very food motivated. Hamilton would benefit from just a little bit of training under his belt and working on a few smart toys. He has a medium to high energy level so would love going on adventures with his new owner. Hamilton has been fully vetted and is ready for his forever home. Could that be you?

Clover came to us very matted and dirty as he had been living his life as an outdoor dog. That life is behind him now and he’s freshly groomed and ready to live the life of a loved pooch. Clover is a 2 year old, 10 lb Silky terrier mix who has a long and luxurious coat that will require regular brushing, upkeep and grooming. Clover has a playful but gentle side and loves other dogs. He would love to have another doggie pal in his forever home. Clover is well behaved in the home, doing great with his potty training and he sleeps in his cozy crate at night. Clover can be a tiny bit shy around new people initially, but he warms up quickly and is very sweet and loving. He loves going on adventures, walks and the dog park with his foster family.
