Tiny Bella came to us with a broken leg. After weeks of healing, she ended up not needing surgery after all. Bella has joined her new family with another dog. She has already become “daddy’s girl”.

Bingo was surrendered to Lovebugs when his former owner became to elderly to care for him. He went from spending most of his time living outside, to living in Newport back bay with a family who adores him!

Max came to us after he was purchased from a backyard breeder and got sick. His owners could not afford his vetting so they surrendered him to Lovebugs Rescue. We immediately got Max the treatment that he needed. But unfortunately, Max needed oxygen support 3 days after arriving into our rescue. He was on oxygen for one full week, and sadly he tested positive for distemper and did not survive treatment. Max is one of many dogs that are dying horrible deaths due to the rise in backyard breeding during COVID. Please do not purchase a puppy off Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. The puppies seem to be healthy at first, but PARVO and distemper take 14 days to start showing symptoms. Please help us educate people about this in memory of Max.

Radar was dropped off at the OC shelter just before closing. He was very sick and was positive for PARVO. A shelter volunteer rushed him to our vet, but sadly after two days, Radar passed away. Radar is one of many puppies that are being purchased from backyard breeders and soon after become sick with PARVO or distemper. Please do not purchase a puppy from Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Help spread the word in memory of Radar.
